If you're looking for a local breakfast spot in Huntington Beach that's away from the Downtown crowds, Green Street Café is one to put on your list.

Located on Warner Avenue, Green Street Café is the kind of neighborhood restaurant I love highlighting on Selling Surf City.

It's casual, the menu is huge, breakfast is the star of the show, and there are enough interesting options that you don't have to order the same basic eggs and toast you could get anywhere.

And honestly, places like this are part of what I love about living in Huntington Beach.

The restaurants locals actually go to are just as much a part of Surf City as the places overlooking the ocean.

So if you haven't been to Green Street Café yet, here's what you should know.

Green Street Café Is a Huntington Beach Breakfast Spot Worth Knowing

Green Street Café is located at 4911 Warner Avenue, Suite 102 in Huntington Beach.

It's tucked into the Huntington Harbour side of town, making it a convenient breakfast or lunch stop if you live in northwest Huntington Beach, are heading toward the Harbour, or just want to get away from the busier brunch scene closer to the beach.

This isn't really a "go for the ocean view" kind of breakfast place.

You go for the food.

And the menu gives you A LOT to choose from.

Let's Talk About the Breakfast Menu

If you're someone who opens a breakfast menu and wants options, Green Street Café has you covered.

We're talking:

Pancakes

Waffles

French toast

Benedicts

Breakfast burritos

Omelettes

and plenty more.

There are classic choices, but there are also some very Green Street creations that make the menu much more fun.

The Green Street Stuffed French Toast

If you're Team Sweet at breakfast, this one immediately stands out.

The Green Street Stuffed French Toast is made with cream cheese and strawberries and finished with powdered sugar and Nutella.

Basically, this isn't your Tuesday-morning-piece-of-toast breakfast.

This is we're going out for breakfast, so we're committing to breakfast.

And I fully support that.

Or Try the Maui Wowi Pancakes

Another fun choice is the Maui Wowi.

These pancakes combine macadamia nuts and banana, which feels very appropriate for a breakfast before a Huntington Beach day.

There's also a more traditional buttermilk option, along with other pancake choices if you're not quite ready to commit to macadamia nuts before 9 a.m.

If You're Team Savory, Look at the Benedicts

This is where the Green Street menu gets really interesting.

Of course, you can get a traditional Benedict.

But then there is the Eggs Huntington.

And with a name like that, I obviously have to mention it on Selling Surf City.

Eggs Huntington comes with grilled portobello mushroom, sautéed spinach, tomato, avocado, poached eggs and hollandaise.

Then there's the Redneck Benedict, which takes things in a completely different direction.

That one starts with buttermilk biscuits and adds tender shredded short rib, poached eggs, shoestring onions, BBQ seasoning and hollandaise.

Not exactly your standard eggs Benedict.

The Hangover Burrito Means Business

Green Street Café also has breakfast burritos, including a build-your-own option.

But the one that's hard to ignore is appropriately called the Hangover Burrito.

It's loaded with scrambled eggs, bacon, tater tots, pico de gallo, chilies, onions, jack cheese and hot sauce.

That's the kind of breakfast burrito you order when breakfast also needs to fix your entire morning.

Don't Forget About Lunch

Green Street isn't only breakfast.

If someone at your table has already mentally moved on to lunch while you're still firmly in pancake territory, there are plenty of lunch options too.

The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salads and other American comfort-food choices.

That makes Green Street an easy option for those late-morning meals when half the table wants breakfast and the other half wants lunch.

Why I Like Neighborhood Places Like Green Street Café

This is exactly the kind of place I want people to discover through Selling Surf City.

When someone asks me what it's like living in Huntington Beach, the answer isn't only:

The beach.

The pier.

Surfing.

Huntington Harbour.

Those are obviously huge parts of it.

But living somewhere is also about developing your routine.

It's knowing where you like to grab breakfast.

Where you can meet a friend on a weekday morning.

Where you can go without dealing with the Downtown weekend crowds.

And where you start recognizing the restaurants that make your particular part of Huntington Beach feel like home.

Green Street Café is one of those neighborhood spots.

Selling Surf City Tip 🌊

Green Street Café is located at 4911 Warner Avenue #102 in Huntington Beach.

If you're planning a visit, I'd look at the menu before you go because there are a LOT of choices.

My short list?

Green Street Stuffed French Toast if you're craving something sweet.

Eggs Huntington if you want the very appropriately named Surf City option.

Redneck Benedict if you're hungry.

And the Hangover Burrito if last night was... a little too Huntington Beach.

No judgment here. 😂

Make It Part of a Huntington Beach Morning

One of my favorite things about Green Street's location is that breakfast doesn't have to be the entire plan.

Make a morning out of it.

Grab breakfast.

Head toward Huntington Harbour.

Take a walk.

Explore Bolsa Chica.

Or keep going toward the coast and spend some time at the beach.

That's one of the great things about living in this part of Huntington Beach.

A normal breakfast can pretty easily turn into a morning by the water.

Before You Go

Green Street Café is currently open for breakfast and lunch.

The restaurant lists its hours as:

Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–2:00 PM

Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM–2:30 PM

Because restaurant hours and menus can change, I always recommend checking directly with the restaurant before making a special trip.
