Red Table Huntington Beach: A Huntington Harbour Neighborhood Staple
Red Table has become a Huntington Harbour neighborhood staple—the kind of restaurant where you always see someone you know. Here are my favorite dishes, what makes it special and why it's part of the Harbour lifestyle.

If you live in Huntington Harbour, chances are you've spent an evening at Red Table.
And chances are you've run into someone you know while you're there.
That's part of what I love about it.
Located in the Huntington Harbour Mall, Red Table has become a true neighborhood staple—a place you can meet friends for dinner, grab a glass of wine, celebrate something special or decide at the last minute that you just don't feel like cooking tonight.
It's comfortable without feeling too casual, nice without feeling overly fancy, and the menu manages to keep things interesting while still having those dishes you come back for again and again.
For me, those dishes are very easy:
The Cheap Date.
The Winemaker Burger.
And the Beef Stroganoff.
If you know, you know.
A Huntington Harbour Neighborhood Staple
One of my favorite things about Red Table isn't actually on the menu.
It's the neighborhood feel.
There are restaurants you go to where you don't know a single person in the room.
And then there are neighborhood restaurants where you walk through the door and immediately start looking around to see who's there.
Red Table is definitely the second kind.
Living in Huntington Harbour has a real community feel to it, and Red Table has become one of those places where that shows.
You go in for dinner and suddenly you're waving to someone across the restaurant.
You see a neighbor.
Someone you know from the Harbour.
A friend having dinner at another table.
And before you know it, you've had three conversations before you've even ordered.
That's Red Table.
Right in the Huntington Harbour Mall
Red Table is located at 16821 Algonquin Street, Suite 105, right in the Huntington Harbour Mall behind Trader Joe's.
For Harbour residents, the location couldn't be much more convenient.
It's close to the islands, the Harbour neighborhoods, PCH, Sunset Beach and Bolsa Chica.
And I think that's one of the reasons it has become such a staple.
It's not a restaurant you have to make a whole production out of visiting.
It's our neighborhood restaurant.
And there's something really nice about having a place like that close to home.
I Love That the Menu Changes
One of the things that keeps Red Table interesting is that they don't rely solely on the exact same menu all year.
They regularly introduce monthly chef specials, so there's usually something new to try.
I love that.
You can go back to your favorites—which I obviously do—but there's still a reason to look at the specials before automatically ordering what you had last time.
The seasonal and rotating approach makes Red Table feel a little different throughout the year.
And I think that's exactly what you want from a neighborhood restaurant.
Familiar, but never boring.
Okay, Let's Talk About My Order
Everyone has their Red Table favorites.
These are mine.
And I'm very loyal to them.
#1: The Cheap Date
First things first:
You have to get a Cheap Date.
And yes, that really is what it's called.
The Cheap Date is made with bacon-wrapped dates, arugula, vinegar and mascarpone.
Sweet.
Savory.
Bacon.
Cheese.
What else do you really need?
It's technically an appetizer, which means you're supposed to share it.
Whether I actually want to share it is another question.
Selling Surf City Tip: If someone at the table says, "Should we get the Cheap Date?"
The answer is yes.
There is no further discussion required.
#2: The Winemaker Burger
Next up is the Winemaker Burger.
This is one of those dishes I keep coming back to.
Red Table does comfort food really well, and to me, the Winemaker Burger is exactly the kind of thing that fits the restaurant.
A great burger.
A glass of wine.
Someone you know sitting two tables away.
Very Huntington Harbour.
If it's your first time at Red Table and you're a burger person, this would absolutely be on my list.
#3: The Beef Stroganoff
And then there is the Beef Stroganoff.
This is comfort food.
Red Table's version is made with filet mignon tips, caramelized onion, mascarpone, pappardelle pasta and a white truffle mushroom cream sauce.
I mean...
Come on.
It's rich, comforting and exactly the kind of dinner I want when I'm craving pasta.
This is one of my longtime Red Table favorites and definitely one of the dishes I recommend.
But Check the Specials Before You Order
Even though I clearly have my favorites, always look at the current specials.
Red Table features rotating chef specials throughout the year, and that's part of the fun.
You might go in planning to order your usual and end up finding something completely different.
They also have different specials during the week, including Wine Wednesday, which currently features 50% off bottles of wine for dine-in guests.
And a neighborhood dinner with a bottle of wine at Red Table?
That's a pretty easy yes for me.
Sunday Brunch at Red Table
Here's another thing to know:
Red Table does Sunday brunch.
So it isn't only a dinner spot.
Their current Sunday brunch runs from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM and includes Benedicts, chilaquiles, omelets, breakfast burritos, pancakes, waffles and other brunch favorites.
Then they reopen for Sunday dinner.
So if you're looking for a Huntington Harbour brunch option without heading Downtown, put this one on your list.
The Story Behind the Red Table
I also love the story behind the restaurant because it fits what Red Table has ultimately become.
The restaurant says its beginnings were rooted in food, friendship and people gathering around a table.
The idea was to create a neighborhood place where people could:
Relax. Eat. Drink.
And then they literally built a red table.
Years later, I think the concept makes even more sense.
Because that's really what this restaurant has become for Huntington Harbour.
A gathering place.
It's not just about what's being served.
It's about who you're sitting with—and apparently who you run into while you're there.
This Is What I Mean When I Talk About the Huntington Harbour Lifestyle
When people think about living in Huntington Harbour, the obvious things come to mind first.
The waterfront homes.
The islands.
The boats.
Private docks.
Paddleboards.
Duffy rides.
Sunsets.
And yes, those things make the Harbour incredibly special.
But there's another side of living here that I think matters just as much:
the neighborhood.
It's having your Trader Joe's.
It's having restaurants you actually go to regularly.
It's recognizing people around town.
It's running into neighbors at dinner.
It's having places where the staff starts to recognize you and where meeting a friend doesn't require driving across Orange County.
That's the difference between visiting somewhere and actually living there.
And Red Table is very much part of living in Huntington Harbour.
Make a Harbour Evening Out of It
One of my favorite things about living here is how easy it is to turn an ordinary evening into something that feels special.
Take the Duffy out.
Watch the sunset.
Come back in.
Meet friends for dinner at Red Table.
Order a Cheap Date.
Have a glass of wine.
And somehow a random weeknight starts feeling like a little vacation.
That's Huntington Harbour.
It doesn't always have to be some big planned event.
Sometimes it's simply enjoying what's right outside your front door.
Before You Go
Red Table is located at:
16821 Algonquin Street, Suite 105 Huntington Beach, CA 92649
It's in the Huntington Harbour Mall behind Trader Joe's.
Current hours are:
Monday–Saturday: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
Sunday Brunch: 10:30 AM–2:00 PM
Sunday Dinner: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
Menus, specials and hours can change, so check directly with Red Table before you go—especially because you'll want to see what's on the current seasonal specials menu.
Selling Surf City Tip 🌊
My Red Table order?
Start with the Cheap Date.
Then I'm deciding between the Winemaker Burger and the Beef Stroganoff.
And because they rotate specials, I am at least going to look at the specials before ordering one of my usuals.
Whether I actually stray from my favorites is another story.
More Than Just a Restaurant
Red Table is exactly the kind of place I want to highlight on Selling Surf City.
Because I'm not only showing you houses in Huntington Beach.
I want to show you what it's actually like to live here.
The islands.
The Harbour.
The restaurants.
The beach.
The people.
And those little neighborhood places that eventually become part of your routine.
I'm Meghan Koshar, a Huntington Beach local and REALTOR® behind Selling Surf City, and Huntington Harbour is especially close to my heart because it's where I grew up.
So when I tell you Red Table has become a Huntington Harbour staple, I mean it.
And if you see me there?
There's a pretty good chance there's a Cheap Date on my table. 😉🌊
